About

I am a ceramic artist and educator who resides in northern Minnesota. My ceramic work combines narrative drawings, historical references, and utilitarian forms. My pieces focus on how we live and what we value in contemporary society while working within the timeline of historical ceramic objects. Balancing teaching and producing new artwork creates an invigorating and sometimes harrowing tension between inspiration and obligation. Teaching is largely about encouraging students to work hard, and take risks; forcing me to do the same.
